Audiometry Test Center
According to statistics from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Noise-Induced Hearing Loss is one of the most common occupational illnesses affecting workers in Malaysia today.
For the first time since 1989, the laws relating to noise exposure at the workplace have undergone a major revision by DOSH. The older regulations, previously known as the Noise Exposure Regulations 1989 under the Factory and Machineries Act 1967, have been revoked and replaced with the Occupational Safety and Health (Noise Exposure) Regulations 2019.
The new regulations, which contain several major changes, are scheduled to take effect from 1st June 2019.
The audiometric tests are conducted in a quiet soundproof room. Earphones will be placed on. The earphones are connected to a machine that will deliver the tones and different sounds of speech to ears, one ear at a time. The audiologist will ask you to raise your hand when you hear a sound.
